March for the Disappeared

March for the Displaced

March for the Massacred

March for the Executed

March for the Kidnapped

In Colombia the paramilitary groups, alone or in conjunction with members of the Military Armed Forces have:

  • Displaced nearly 4 MILLION people
  • Disappeared at least 15,000, burying them in 3,000 mass graved or throwing their bodies in the rivers.  The victims are usually tortured before they are killed
  • Assassinated more than 1,700 indigenous persons, 2,550 trade unionists
  • Exterminated the legal political party La Unión Patriótica by the assassination of 5,000 members (including 2 of its presidential candidates)

Between the years of 1982 and 2005 the paramilitaries have:

  • perpetrated over 3,500 massacres
  • stolen over 14,400,000 million acres of land.

Since 2002, after their "demobilization", they have:

  • assassinated 600 people each year
  • boasted that they control 35% of all members of congress

Since 2002 members of the Colombian Army have executed more than 950 civilians; they have reported these murders as guerrillas killed in action.

In January 2008, the paramilitaries committed 2 massacres, 9 disappearances, 8 homicides, and the Army committed 16 extra judicial executions.

In Colombia, agents of the State and paramilitaries violate human rights and Humanitarian International Law. The paramilitary groups are still active. Now they call themselves Black Eagles. Many of the "para-politicians" hold public office and diplomatic posts.

YOU MARCHED ON FEBRUARY 4TH. WILL YOU MARCH AGAIN ON MARCH 6 WITH US TO SUPPORT THE VICTIMS OF THE PARAMILITARIES, THE PARA-POLITICIANS AND THE AGENTS OF THE STATE?
